"We love because he first loved us."
1 John 4:19
As believers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Bible calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Here at Redeemer we focus on caring for those in our church, and those who are in our community.
Our Compassion team is made up of women and men in the church who facilitate ways in which we can address the needs of our brothers and sisters within the church and in our neighborhood.
The team works to identify needs, and then coordinates relief and assistance for the individuals involved. There are no needs too big or too small to bring to the team.
The team seeks to connect members with service opportunities in the community where we have an established relationship.
For example, we have a relationship with Green Charter School, in the Freret neighborhood, where we are providing weekend meals for students who have been identified as having food insecurity. Members volunteer to pack and deliver bags.
If you have a need or are interested in finding out more about the Compassion Team, email firstname.lastname@example.org with "Compassion" in the subject and we will connect with the team.
